Welcome to Long Field School

Long Field is justly proud of its reputation for high quality learning and teaching and for its orderly, well behaved, articulate pupils.
The caring, challenging and varied environment we have created has encouraged our students to reach and sustain high levels of achievement which are reflected in our results and teacher assessments.
We are currently in a very exciting phase of our development, opening our doors to Year 10 pupils for the first time this September to become an 11-16 school, and an 11-19 school as part of a federated sixth form in 2011, enabling our students to develop as learners for as long as they wish.
As part of the Melton and Belvoir partnership we will be in an excellent position to provide our students with access to the widest range of learning opportunities and our £5million building programme is enabling us to do this in top class accommodation.

Whilst our facilities and approach are modern, we are proud of our traditions, attitudes and values. We aim to provide individual, caring attention for each child and to create a stimulating environment, so that effective learning and teaching can take place. Long Field has high expectations of its maturing 11 – 16 year olds, both academically and socially.

We believe that our pupils should feel a strong sense of community within the school and that when they leave, they will have fulfilled their real potential. We rely heavily on the partnership between home and school; it is central to providing a consistent positive message about the importance of learning and key to the pastoral support we wish to provide.

We welcome visitors to the school to tour the buildings and see our students working. It is a privilege for me to be the Headteacher at Long Field School and I look forward to the opportunity of sharing our success with you.

Mr. Rob Garrett
Headteacher
